Express Swimmers are Named Scholastic All-Americans

Nine members of the Waukesha Express Swim Team (Express) have made USA Swimming’s Scholastic All-American Team.  These swimmers are: Stephanie Armstrong ( Waukesha West High School ), Elise Borja ( Waukesha South High School ), Pamela Bretrick ( Waukesha South High School ), Sara Brooks ( Burlington High School ), Byron Butler ( New Berlin West High School ), Collin Neitzel ( Waukesha South High School ), Eric Oberst ( Waukesha South High School ), Emily Schwabe ( Waukesha West High School ), and Courtney Sheehan ( Waukesha South High School ).

 
"We are very proud of our Scholastic All-Americans,” said Express Head Coach Blaine Carlson.  “They work very hard in and out of the pool.”

           

The Scholastic All-American Team is announced by USA Swimming every year.  To be eligible for the program, you must be a USA Swimming member in grades 10 through 12, achieve a 3.5 GPA or better, and have a Junior National Bonus Time Standard. 

           

“At Express, we take both swimming and academics seriously,” said Carlson.  “This is proof that you can be a great athlete and a great student; you are not just limited to one or the other.”
