Stephanie Armstrong, a
senior at
Waukesha
West
High
School
, signed
with
Indiana
University
. After several
visits to different colleges, Armstrong told
Indiana
University
she will be swimming for
them in the fall.
“I felt the most comfortable at
Indiana
University
,” Armstrong
said. “I loved the team, the pool, the campus,
everything.”
Armstrong started her swimming career in the SwimAmerica program
associated with the Waukesha Express Swim Team (Express).
After SwimAmerica, she worked her way up through the different
Express groups, all the way to the Express National Team and to a
full swimming scholarship at
Indiana
University
.
“I am very proud of Stephanie,” said Head Coach Blaine
Carlson. “It’s great to see such a successful
swimmer come out of our program. Seeing the success Stephanie
has had makes me feel confident in every level of our team; from
SwimAmerica to the Senior Team.”
Armstrong was recently named to USA Swimming’s Scholastic
All-American Team, which shows she will be able to balance NCAA
Division 1 swimming and academics.
“I’m sad to
leave Express,” Armstrong said. “But I’m
excited to swim in college. It’s something I’ve
always wanted to do.”
